Red door on Narraganset street.

Image
When we were first looking to buy this house, I remember walking into my to-be bedroom. With big eyes I looked around & imagined where I would put my dolls, I was a mom to dozens of stuffed animals & cared for each  baby doll. This home had to be the one, for them.  I walked into my HUGE closet and there were old telephones, the ones you have to spin to dial.  I negotiated with the realtor that the house was mine "IF" I could have the red fancy telephones. Despite my best efforts, I lost the deal.                  I remember distantly, hearing muffled conversations of my mom & dad taking to the realtor saying stuff like "this could be the one, this could work." Walking out the door of the White House on Narraganset , my three year-old little heart knew that this place was going to be special.                There I was Two years older, Running out the door, wearing ...

Today.

Told to swollow it, told to move on. But today, no, not today. Today I will learn the Heimlich and force it out of my swallowed emotions. Today I will drive alone, along the coast and quietly play my indie music. Today I won't pretend that I am content where I am, that there isn't some where else I want to be. Today I will turn my AC on to make myself feel cold. Today I will let myself remember your hand in mine as we walked the pier swapping three letter words. Today, I will let myself be happy with being sad. Today I will let myself drive faster at the thought of "her". Today, I will drive around your cul-de-sac and play BeyoncĂ©.           Today I will wear over sized flannels and hike a mountain or something. Today I will take rad indie pictures of the forest, and won't pretend that I am happy sipping mainstream "coffee". Today I won't pretend that I am content within the gates of my gated community. Today I wi...

Blair of a fog horn

My name is Elizabeth wyona Goold. I am 15 years old. I was born in California where my heart has remained faithfully in love.       But don't have me mistaken, there are days when I want nothing more than to move on a whim to a small, cold town. Where small coffee shops are they only places to socialize. And the only necessities I would need are the company of myself a journal, my scriptures, a camera, a cozy blanket that reeks of memories and a semi  decent phone with awful coverage.                I am in awe of the ocean and the wonder and mystery it holds. My soul is drawn back to my core when I hear the Blair of a fog horn.  I feel as if I spent my days walking with Christ along the coast, as he would explain his plans for me. So a piece of my soul unknowingly lingers. I know that there is a God above who hears our prayers. Who aligned the stars, the moon and the earth just within the means o...

A world where...

As I've come to find myself, I've realized I  care deeply, for everyone and everything. I've been pondering the thought of,"Is  this just a phase everyone goes through"a nd  then eventually wares out of?". To be bold and slightly confident, I like  this part of myself.  Every bone in my being  wants this to not "just be a phase". I want   this to be a package deal with my soul. A  deal that I signed up for up in heaven.  A package deal that entitles, the sun,the  moon and the stars having a greater meaning, than in actuality. Anything and everything having symbolism. Every soul having hidden messages and quirks with story's to tell.            I don't EVER want to live in a state of mind where a flower buried by dirt isn't a declaration of hidden beauty.  A world where thousand year old trees don't love to see the generations, come and go and see th...

To my father.

Thank you for never taking it easy on me just because I'm a girl. Thank you for when I  was little and I wrote you a note, saying how I thought I was ugly, and you took me out for the rest of the day  and spent it proving me wrong. For taking me to see wicked for my tenth birthday in San  Francisco and dressing super fancy. Thank you for ALWAYS being a morning person. Thank you   for giving me the gift of the Holy Ghost when I was 8.  Thank you,for when I  turned 12, you were there to  baptize me once again. This time for someone else, and I thank you for crying. Thank you for showing  me how a man should love and respect his wife.  Thank you for showing me hard work, and the benefits  thereof. For teaching me how to be street smart and be aware of my surroundings, yet remain innocent. Thank you for never letting me get caught up in "girl drama".  Thank you for teaching me how to take negativity, never letting so...

Happiness is NOT a destination

happiness is not a destination This topic is something that has been on my mind every sense i fell in love with a book by john green called paper towns.  The main character Margo has a very strong opinion on not waiting for the future plans to come to pass but living for now.  This has really stuck with me. It made me realize yes i can look forward to  what the lord has planned for me in years to come, but i also need to find joy in where i am now. A s humans we tend to long for the future ,and we ponder the thought of "when i have 5 kids and a husband then i will be happy" or 'when i have a boyfriend/girlfriend 'once i get into this college" once i am retired i will travel the world ,when i live in Utah or Hawaii or France then my happiness is guaranteed, to me this quite ridiculous.        Happiness is not a destination or an if and when, but merely a state of mind/ mood. Happiness and joy are a choice you choose to make. the sooner you realiz...

All kinds of strong.

This past week i was very blessed to be able to participate in ROPES course. An amazing week filled with challenging obstacles and amazing brake through's  mentally, physically and spiritually, and to keep ropes fun for the younger girls many parts are to be kept a secret in our hearts.         This small back round is to show you how i came to realize the things which i am about to share with you. I realized many things this week. One being, others and myself are much stronger then i ever knew possible. Two,society tends to limit qualities when in fact, most qualities are exceedingly limitless.Three learning to put your trust in others. Now i am going to expand on these three things which i feel have changed me in small but mighty ways                              I realized many people around me i have never doubted there strengths, but also never had the chan...
